Celerity Group, Inc
The Company
The Challenge
With its strong commitment to safety, Celerity implemented a safety program managed by a safety representative at each location, which is overseen globally. In order to meet the company’s safety goals, Celerity required a program ensuring consistent course presentation, robust management tools and the coordination of training records. Tracking and Reporting
Prior to PureSafety, training was tracked manually. Celerity needed an automated system to track all training activities of its 1,000+ employees. Celerity also required the ability to have its training reports automatically emailed to the appropriate parties in the company.
Time Savings
Celerity needed to reduce employee time in training, tracking, and running manual reports, while improving retention and overall safety awareness.
Consistent Safety Message
Celerity needed a consistent safety message across the organization. With so many employees and contractors in numerous locations, it was critical that all employees were receiving the same safety message.
The Solution
Celerity implemented the PureSafety Enterprise solution in January 2001. PureSafety training is provided to all Celerity employees, as well as any onsite vendors and contractors – who are required to complete certain safety courses immediately when they join the Celerity team. Employees at Celerity are expected to complete one new course per month, which can be taken at any location, on their own time and at their own pace.
The Results
Since implementing PureSafety, Celerity has seen numerous benefits - both for the company and its employees:
Perfect Record Award from the NSC
PureSafety is an important element of Celerity's multi-part safety program which has produce award-winning results. The National Safety Council (NSC) recently awarded its Perfect Record Award to Celerity's Austin Operations for achieving over 1.8 million hours with no lost time accidents since March, 2001. This record continues and is now over 2.1 million hours, which is almost a million hours better than the best known record for similar operations.
This award signifies direct savings to the company. The results not only mean reduced medical costs but also improved productivity. “Celerity has established safety as a core competency with a strong commitment from all levels of the organization,” said Dan Rubin, President of Celerity. In addition to the NSC award, Celerity has a 100% completion training rate for 2004. PureSafety helps Celerity move beyond mere compliance, which results in a stronger safety culture and bottom-line business benefits. |
