PureSafety To Provide Free Online Safety Training To Nashville Area Habitat Volunteers

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - April 8, 2009 – PureSafety, a Nashville-based provider of training, safety, occupational health and medical management software solutions, is partnering with Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity to provide free online safety training to all Nashville area volunteers for the next three years.

Volunteers will have access at no charge to the following PureSafety courses, which cover key safety issues and procedures volunteers need to know and follow when working on a Habitat construction site:

• Hand and Power Tool Safety
• Ladder Safety
• Hand, Wrist and Finger Safety
• Heat Stress
• Preventing Back Injuries

The PureSafety partnership will be promoted with a link on the Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity website at www.habitatnashville.org, that leads to an online training portal that PureSafety developed for the cause.

“We are proud to have the opportunity to help the many volunteers who are giving their time and expertise to such a worthwhile cause,” said Tom Gaudreau, PureSafety’s vice president of marketing. “We want to do everything we can to help ensure that all volunteers have the proper safety training and see the project through to completion without injury.”

“We are very fortunate to have an excellent safety record,” said Gary Bigelow, COO for Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity. “Since Nashville Area Habitat began building in 1985, our injuries have consisted of mostly hammers meeting thumbs or simple splinters. We do a safety presentation each morning of every build day, and PureSafety’s online training enhances our efforts by providing a great source of information for volunteers before they come to the build.”

This partnership extends PureSafety’s longstanding relationship with Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity. Over the past few years, PureSafety has provided its online Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour training to many of the Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity Supervisors on Site (SOS) at no cost. In November 2006, PureSafety provided online training for all volunteers for Whirlpool Building Blocks, a week-long blitz build of 10 homes on one block.  PureSafety’s support of the Whirlpool Building Blocks program has continued since the inaugural build in Nashville.
