History
In 1998, Thompson Machinery Commerce Corporation, a Tennessee-based heavy equipment dealer, suffered the first and only on-the-job fatality in its then 54-year history. Thompson had formal safety programs and dedicated safety resources, but senior management, devastated by the accident, asked how they could do more to improve safety and prevent another occurrence. Out of tragedy, PureSafety was born. What started as an internal safety training delivery and management tool for Thompson soon demonstrated its value in many industries. On April 19, 1999, PureSafety became an independent company and has been expanding its presence in the industry ever since through strong internal growth and strategic acquisitions of complementary companies and software solutions. PureSafety's dynamic growth earned it a spot on the prestigious Inc. 500 and the Deloitte Technology Fast 500, and numerous awards for innovation and business excellence. The first online safety training company to deliver an On Demand solution, it has developed the industry's largest library of interactive, engaging courses covering all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources compliance, and more. PureSafety expanded its solution suite in 2006 by acquiring PerDatum and its Prognos™ software solutions for incident, injury and absence management. In 2008, PureSafety acquired Unique Software Solutions, Inc. and its Occupational Health Manager® (OHM) software solution. Launched in 1986, OHM became one of the first modular software packages to integrate all the detailed tracking and reporting tools needed for occupational safety, health and medical management. Combining Prognos and OHM with PureSafety's existing offerings created an enterprise-wide total solution that is unmatched in the industry - and delivers unmatched convenience and bottom-line benefits for our customers. While PureSafety has achieved extraordinary success in its first 10 years, we are even more excited about the future. Our commitment to constantly do more to protect our customers' greatest assets - their people and profits - remains as strong as ever, and we will continue to improve and expand our solutions to meet their ever-changing needs.
